Get to know the Board: Jean Sovinski

Get to know Board member, Jean!

How many years have you been on the CASA Board?

I have been on the Board for the last 1.5 years.

Tell us about your time outside CASA. Any career highlights to share?

I was instrumental in the creation of a successful architecture firm, Studio 343, focused on providing safe, healthy and affordable communities where people thrive. I currently serve as Managing Partner of the firm.

How did you come to learn about CASA?

I learned about CASA during a business meeting with the organization’s president at the time, Chris Buck.

What inspired you to get involved with CASA?

My personal experience of a traumatic childhood, followed by community support, which got me out of an unsafe home. The “village” that surrounded me gave me hope. With that hope, I overcame the pain and sorrow to become a successful human being.

Tell us more about what you like to do in your spare time:

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, watching college sports, traveling and continuing to build a successful architecture practice.

What’s something fun and quirky about you?

I played volleyball in college and I had 26″ vertical jump. I only jump that high now if I see a mouse!

Thank you Jean!
