Rex’s Support Squad

JOIN REX’S SUPPORT SQUAD!

There is always a need for volunteers who may not be able to devote the time to become an advocate. Rex’s Support Squad is where you can help!

Rex Tingle, husband of the Anne Arundel County CASA Executive Director Rebecca Tingle, was a passionate supporter and champion for CASA. Rex was always present at every CASA event as a cheerleader and vocal presence to urge support and compassion for our most vulnerable children.

Rex’s ability to bring people together was unmatched. He connected people. Rex created “family” through humor, thoughtfulness and love.

It was Rex’s dream that every child in the foster care system have a CASA and the support for this program was ongoing, strong and unwavering. Sadly Rex passed before he could realize this dream.

Rex’s Support Squad is created in his honor to bring together community volunteers to assist the CASA mission through the helping hands of all who wish to support the work of CASA.

Ways that the Support Squad assists AACASA:

Assist office staff with clerical duties such as helping with filing, mailings and photocopying. Children who have a CASA receive more services and have one consistent person advocating for them.

Assist staff and/or Board of Directors with fundraising activities, including raffles, auctions, identifying fund sources, grant research, etc. The Council of Family Court Judges acknowledges the work of CASA in ensuring safe and permanent homes for abused and neglected children. The National Bar Association endorses the appointment of CASA to represent the best interests of abused/neglected children, and recognizes that CASA volunteers prevent thousands of children from becoming stranded in the courts and foster care.

Participate in the planning and coordination of special events, such as volunteer recognition events, receptions, galas, golf tournaments, etc.

Prepare P.R. material prior to special events, periodically distribute P.R. material to local organizations (e.g. libraries, clubs, churches, etc.), update media contact list, etc.
Provide pro-bono or discounted services (e.g. printing, accounting, etc.). Businesses that donate goods and/or services receive acknowledgement in our newsletter.
Anne Arundel County CASA, Inc. will gladly consider projects and ideas other than those previously listed.
